Step 1
Use VIN to check what IMMO system of this BMW ,CAS or FEM or BDC
If car work with you, you can use ACDP OBD identify to read IMMO info via car OBD .
Step 2
Remove odometer off and open it. looking for the following chips model, If cannot found
Looking for 35128WT or 35160WT. every dash chip's location is different, so you need to check both side of the dashboard, and check for the mark of each chip.
If the chip model is one of the following , you can use ACDP Module 4 to correct the dash milage
If the chips model is 35160WT or 35128WT, these two kinds of chip model cannot be eraser by Module 4 or another tool. For 35128WT and 35160WT, you need to use our YH 35XX programmer to do the following steps:
1-Soler the original chips off and solder on our 35XX programmer board
2-Read original 35160WT or 35128WT chip data +ID by 35XX programmer
3-Correct mileage as require, and after corrected it will generate a new date
4-Write this new data into a simulator chip by 35XX programmer .
5-Solder the simulator chip to the dashboard.
Location of 35128 Chip Before replacing After replacing
Another kind simulator is bigger and has a golden tail, The disadvantage of this kind of simulator chips is that it is more obvious after replacement, but advantage is it easy to solder and can be removed and welded repeatedly, it compatible with both 35128WT and 35160WT chips, that means it can replace both 35128WT and 35160WT chips
Step 3. Reset car IMMO module mileage to 0
Why need to reset BMW car IMMO module mileage to 0?
Because the odometer mileage and IMMO module mileage will be sync . when you modify the mileage of one of them , the modified milage will be sync to each other , so for prevent the original mileage sync to odometer , when you finish the odometer mileage correct, before you put the odometer back to car ,you need to reset the IMMO milage to 0 ,that when you install the odometer back to the car , the milage you want will be sync to IMMO .
If car IMMO module is CAS Module, you will need ACDP Module 1 BMW CAS module (CAS3+/3++ recommend reset on the bench ,others can be reset by OBD )
If car IMMO module is FEM Module, you will need ACDP Module 2 BMW FEM/BDC module reset on the bench.
If car IMMO module is BDC Module, you will need ACDP Module 2 BMW FEM/BDC module reset one the bench.
Step 4. Put IMMO module and odometer back to car.
About filter
When do I need to add filter?
If the car is G series ,then the IMMO module will be BDC2 or BDC3 ,because now no tool can reset the milage to 0 yet .So you need to install a filter to prevent the IMMO mileage sync to odometer .
